It has to be quite the feeling to know you shared the same position with Rod. I can see why he would prefer to associate himself more with his original work rather than an adaptation (which I didn't know Planet of the Apes was). His writing is spectacular and he really is one of a kind when you consider the time period he lived in. The Twilight Zone is one of my favorite shows of all time. A big inspiration, for sure.
